WOW! rolls out new Ultra TV service

WOW! Internet, Cable and Phone has introduced Ultra TV, a next generation multi-services platform that includes a whole-home HD DVR and Emmy award-winning Smart Menu.

WOW! Ultra TV is a breakthrough in home entertainment, providing cable customers with a variety of great features all in one easy solution. The whole-home HD DVR lets customers record up to six programs at one time and plays them back from any WOW! Ultra TV-connected television in the home. Customers can also manage their recordings remotely from a smart phone or computer. Smart Menu comes with category filters and television apps such as a real-time news ticker, Caller ID to TV, games and Flickr. Customers can also access advanced search functionality that enables them to look for programs available through their television channels, on their HD DVR recordings and On Demand all at the same time. The new platform also includes wireless home networking and the ability to play back personal content like music and pictures from a PC on a WOW! Ultra TV connected television.

WOW! has been testing the platform with employees' families since late last year to ensure Ultra TV met the company's standards for delivering a customer experience that lives up to its name. It was also recently rolled out to a select group of customers who had signed up to be contacted when it became available.

To subscribe to WOW! Ultra TV customers must also subscribe to WOW! Internet. WOW! Ultra TV bundles start at just $90 per month and include WOW! Cable and Internet, an Ultra TV Media Gateway and two Media Players. Customers can lease up to five media players to further enjoy the whole-home HD DVR throughout their house.
