The Federal Communications Commission has given Evansville Low Power Partnership the go-ahead to move Me-TV affiliate WTSN-LD from channel 36 to channel 15.
The construction permit was issued on Monday, and the company now has three years to make the move. However, given the fact that the station currently gets interference from Terre Haute NBC affiliate WTWO (which can cause reception problems for WTSN's over-the-air viewers, especially those in the northern part of its coverage area), don't be surprised if the move comes sooner rather than later.
The move down the dial will also come with a power increase from 3,000 to 15,000 watts, which should also improve reception for antenna users.
Evansville Low Power Partnership also has a construction permit (which was issued this past September) to construct a digital companion channel for its analog station, WYYW-LP, on channel 20. It's not yet known when that station will be ready to go on the air.
I'll have more on this as it develops.
